When vice principal Tim Carlin arrived at Everitt Middle School in Jefferson County, Colorado, he wanted to hold a schoolwide assembly, a pretty common activity in most schools. But his principal told him that the school didn’t hold assemblies anymore because too many kids were getting suspended for bad behavior when they did.
