The Colorado Education Initiative (CEI), an expert in K-12 systems change from the ground-up, is excited to offer contracted support for educators and administrators for district and school teams.

We are educators and system leaders with first-hand experience guiding schools, teachers, and leaders towards cultivating change. Read about our team.

Our offerings include:

Design Thinking

Help build understanding, shift mindsets, and increase educator engagement.

Design thinking, also known as human-centered design, is a solution-based process that improves people’s lives by making their daily experiences better. Improvements are designed by and with the very people – the users – who are impacted.

Workshops include Introduction to Design Thinking and Design Thinking 2.0 and Beyond.

CEI also offers personalized coachingto support innovation, change and redesign efforts using key tenets of design thinking and leadership coaching to sustain redesign efforts.

Social and Emotional Learning

Establish safe, trusting, and healthy learning environments

CEI envisions a school system with embedded social and emotional learning practices that ensure educators and their students have learning environments that are safe, trusting, and healthy. Our offerings include:

Strategic Planning Support: Working to develop a social and emotional development (SED) vision for your local context? Working with CEI, teams have the opportunity to create a road map that guides SED efforts across their system and receive support to lead and execute on their vision for the social and emotional development of their students.

Workshops: Build staff capacity across a district through CEI’s professional development workshop series. While schools and districts can request a single workshop, given the different and complex facets of social and emotional development, CEI recommends a professional development series aligned to an articulated vision.

Example workshops include:

  • How Learning Happens: Developing Students Socially, Emotionally and Academically
  • The Science of Adversity: Adverse Childhood Experiences and School Success
  • Relationships, Trust and Perception of Care
  • Understanding Adolescent Brain Development and School Success
  • Making Equity Actionable in the Classroom

Workshops can also be customized to each school, district or state-level context and desired outcomes.

Specialized Support

We’re experts in Deeper Learning, Advanced Placement & more

CEI offers other specialized professional development opportunities, for example Fal 2019 offerings include:

  • AP Workshopfor Advanced Placement educators
  • School Retool Fellowship,a semester-long professional development fellowship that helps school leaders redesign their school culture to equitably promote Deeper Learning.

In addition to these opportunities, CEI can also support your team in continuous improvement, school leadership and change management through custom workshops and support.
