More On the STEM Cover Story: Closing the Student Achievement Gap

Ninth grader Hayden stares ahead confidently as he describes the inner workings of a molecule and sums up why a plant grows. Hayden is a student at the Denver School of Science and Technology — a public charter school in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood — and wants to be a lawyer one day. Along with 20 other students, he is already getting a picture of what that might look like during a job-shadow tour of Encana Corporation’s downtown Denver offices.
