Shelton Elementary School was named a 2018 Healthy School Champion and received the $500 Excellence Award. The award honors schools and districts for creating and supporting healthy schools, and for implementing effective school health efforts that support student learning.

“For the past three years, we have made a very concerted effort to improve our overall health and wellness environment,” Shelton Principal Karen Brown said in a statement.
