At a Glance

In an effort to create an effective and reliable tool that provides teachers with relevant and actionable feedback from their students, The Colorado Education Initiative (CEI) created Colorado’s Student Perception Survey (SPS).

CEI engaged in a rigorous development and pilot process to create a valid and reliable survey that was designed with input from Colorado teachers and students and is aligned to Colorado’s Teacher Quality Standards.

Throughout the pilot process, CEI worked closely with 16 partner districts to identify best practices regarding survey administration and have incorporated those best practices into every step of this planning guide.

This toolkit compiles all of the lessons learned and best practices gathered  from a diverse group of partners and offers a variety of options for finding the right process for your district.

How to use this toolkit:

  • Start on the Implement tab and download the Student Perception Survey planning guide for a comprehensive overview of the entire planning, administration, and results processes.
  • Throughout the planning guide,   materials such as editable templates, checklists, protocols, and PowerPoint presentations are referenced.  Those documents are hyperlinked in the guide, and can also be found on the Resources tab.
