When my daughters were born, I realized I had great power and responsibility as a parent to give them every opportunity I could to help them grow into healthy, successful adults. All I do as an educational innovator is for them and for all the other young people I have been fortunate to know through them.
About my Innovation Fellows project:
Colorado AeroLab has created a 5th Day program to build bridges between traditional schools and the school of real life for students in small, rural 4-day school week districts. We are integrating problem-based learning with social-emotional learning; multidisciplinary hands-on projects with essential skills building; and helping students with diploma endorsements, micro-credentials, Capstone projects, and social impact projects.
When I’m not working, you will find me…
Outdoors somewhere enjoying nature, hiking a mountain trail, or watching a ball game.
Three words my friends would use to describe me are…
Driven, servant-minded, and visionary.
My favorite quote is…
“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” —St. Julian of Norwich
Life is sometimes so overwhelming that we lose sight of why we are here and what we are about. St. Julian’s words remind me to do the best I can with what I have in the moment and simply trust that everything else will work out just fine.
