School Retool Colorado, a Unique Leadership Fellowship for School Leaders
School Retool helps educators deliver on Colorado’s vision for next generation learning – an approach that lets students connect with the larger world; learn about careers; work on solving social problems; and develop skills they need to be happy, healthy, and productive adults.
Last year, CEI helped launch School Retool in Colorado – one of only seven states offering this high-quality, customized professional learning experience. School leaders like you redesigned their school cultures with small, scrappy experiments called “hacks.”
The unique, cohort-based program connects principals and assistant principals to their peers to develop change management and leadership skills while being supported by local and national experts in school design.

Reimagine professional learning — and reignite your passion for teaching. SpaceLab positions educators as experts.
SpaceLab is CEI’s new series of statewide next generation professional learning opportunities that carve out space and time for educators to network with colleagues and see promising practices up close. It features three strands — networking sessions, design thinking workshops, and seeing is believing expeditions. Educators and school leaders:
- Experience relevant, hands-on learning to benefit instruction.
- Explore new ways to design schools and solve problems.
- Collaborate with other teachers.
SpaceLab professional learning for adults models and fosters the five next generation outcomes and five learning environments we seek with students. See those here.
Watch the SpaceLab video. Learn more about the three strands of professional learning: networking sessions, design thinking workshops, and seeing is believing expeditions.
