Webinar: AmeriCorps Partnerships

June 18, June 22, or June 23

Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) is harnessing the power of AmeriCorps members to support student engagement and success in school – and CEI is thrilled to partner in supporting this effort!

Following an unprecedented year for students, families, and school teams, additional academic skill building is a leading priority entering into the next school year. To help meet this need, CYC is providing expanded access to Reading Corps (PreK-3rd grades), Math Corps (4th-8th grades), and Corps for a Change (9th-12th grades) programming for Colorado schools and districts.

Additionally, CEI is working with CYC and other state partners to design and map opportunities that will lead to an increase in the number of AmeriCorps members joining Colorado’s teacher pipeline. We believe this is a great opportunity for Colorado communities to support students with unfinished learning while simultaneously strengthening our teacher pipeline.

If your school or district is interested in bringing additional tutoring resources to students this fall, we would love to connect with you to share more about the AmeriCorps programs and partnership opportunities for Colorado schools. You can get involved by filling out this interest form, or learn more by signing up for one of these informational webinars:

  • Friday, June 18 – 9-9:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, June 22 – 11-11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, June 23 – 1:30-2 p.m.

This program overview outlines benefits and commitments for partnering schools. CYC has secured state and federal funding to enable a reduced cost to participating schools of $3,000 per AmeriCorps member, who serves fulltime at their school site from the end of August 2021 through the end May 2022. CYC also welcomes conversation with districts as needed to address any financial barriers to partnership.

In addition to the interest form and informational webinar, you can always reach out directly to Paul Beck at CEI or Mary Zanotti at CYC to explore this opportunity and how it might fit your recovery planning needs. Please feel free to share this information with other human resources and learning and remediation leaders who we should connect with about this work.
